No More Ruffing It

Rehab for dogs and cats is a real thing—and there is a real need for it. Something Edriana Fermin, who holds a Clinical Doctorate in Physical Therapy for humans, discovered six years ago.

“My longhaired dachshund Gerard started getting older and needed rehabilitation. When I couldn’t find what he needed, I enrolled in the Canine Rehabilitation Institute to become certified. I adapted my training from humans to animals. And Unleashed Rehab was born.

“Our sole focus is improving a pet’s quality of life through rehabilitation. We’re also mobile, meaning we come to you. We treat dogs, cats, rabbits, hawks, and more. We helped extend the lives of two Florida Panthers at Gatorland by two years through our work!”

“I want people to know rehabilitation is another option besides cage rest and meds—for older animals and younger ones, too. Surgical intervention can get expensive. Sometimes rehabilitation can eliminate that need. Or, at least improve the odds for better outcomes.”
