Coach DJ White is leading Foundation Academy into a new era where faith, character, and championship culture come together.
When Foundation Academy welcomed their new football coach, Daniel “DJ” White, in February 2025, it wasn’t just the start of a new season, it was the start of a new era of purpose-driven athletes.
At his first meeting with players, parents, and administrators, Coach White presented a clear vision for the program: the C4 philosophy. Christ. Character. Community. Champions. It’s a framework that weaves together spiritual growth, personal integrity, service, and competitive excellence on the field, and in the hearts of these young athletes.
At his introductory press conference last winter, Coach White closed by telling the school community, “We want to be all in.” When classes resumed this fall, Foundation Academy’s official motto for the year turned out to be the very same phrase: All In.
“Christ is at the center of everything we do,” he explains. “We want high-character young men who are visible in the community, spreading the gospel, and ultimately becoming champions in life,” he explains.
That approach is already bearing fruit. The Lions are 4–2 midway through the season, fielding a roster of more than 45 players. But Coach White points to a different milestone as the team’s biggest win: one young man recently gave his life to Christ. “We’re not only winning games; we’re winning souls,” he says. “That’s been the biggest victory of all.”
Coach White’s journey to Foundation Academy spans three college programs, Wagner College in New York, Morehead State in Kentucky, and Delaware State University, where he learned from some of the country’s most respected coaches. Now back home in Florida, he’s channeling that experience into shaping a program where faith and football go hand in hand.
By keeping Christ first and modeling servant leadership, Coach DJ White is building more than just a competitive team, he’s nurturing a generation of young men prepared to live out God’s will with integrity, courage, and compassion. And in Winter Garden, that’s a win the whole community can celebrate.
