Play Meets Pause

A whimsical new café where kids explore, parents exhale, and community finds it’s rhythm.

In a town that knows charm, Sprout & Bean Play Café strikes a different note. Created by former touring musicians Rachel and Billy Schmidt of The Whiskey Wasps, the concept centers on a fully immersive “tiny town,” where children step into a pint-sized café, grocery store, hospital, or vet clinic, shaping their own stories as they play. A gently spinning carousel, climbable boat, and interactive walls add movement and discovery.

Designed for children five and under, the space features soft flooring, no-shoe zones, and natural cleaning products. And unlike typical play spaces, it invites parents to stay awhile, with high-quality Prairie House Coffee and Buttermilk Bakery pastries rounding out an experience built for both connection and calm.
