Frozen Fresh

Wild Fork Foods proves frozen can be fresher.

Wild Fork Foods is a unique meat and seafood market that promises extreme high quality at extremely low prices. The trade secret behind their ability to deliver on that promise is that all their products are frozen. We know what you’re thinking. But hold on. They use a process they call “Blast Freezing” where products are taken at their very freshest peak—much fresher than the meat case at your local grocery—and blast frozen to -40 degrees!

They have a saying at Wild Fork Foods: frozen is fresher. And when you get your purchases home and thaw them out, they are all of that and more. Matthew Gilbert, District Manager for Wild Fork Foods, says he has several Michelin chefs who shop with him who can attest to that.

The quality is certainly there—Wild Fork beef all comes from the lush grasslands of Nebraska and Colorado where the feeding is free and slow. No force feeding, ever. The selection is certainly there. Enough apparently for the picky tastes of a Michelin chef. They have over 600 cuts of meat. Over 900 products, total. To put it in perspective, they offer 25 different rib eye steaks! Fifteen different salmon cuts! Their pork is the same high quality as the beef. You like Iberico pork? Basically, the Wagyu of pork from Portugal or Spain? They have it. They also have specialty meats you’ve never heard of, plus all the vegetables, the sides, even the desserts, that you could want.

So, tune up your grill—Matthew Gilbert has four of them that he keeps busy. Why four? “I just really love grilling,” he says, “and I’m pretty good at it.” Grilling season is almost upon us. Father’s Day, Fourth of July, frankly any spring or summer weekend. Head to Wild Fork Foods. We promise, you’ll go wild.
