Seeing the Light
Children’s Lighthouse gets kids kindergarten-ready with a program grounded in faith.
For more than 20 years, Children’s Lighthouse has been preparing kids for the big world of kindergarten and beyond with a program designed to cultivate the joy of learning. Especially with young children from infants through preschool, teachers focus on the whole child, building a foundation for educational success.
The proprietary curriculum at Children’s Lighthouse is designed to take advantage of the ways young brains develop by covering everything from colors and shapes early on, to learning about numbers and developing reading skills. The learning approach focuses on building children’s confidence, fostering community, delivering high-quality early education, and providing emotional support to deepen learning. With this approach, many children who have attended the program are already reading simple words and sentences when they start kindergarten, setting the stage for success in school.
Because of the relationship Children’s Lighthouse has with the church, students also benefit from early faith-based education. The school is owned by People of Faith Lutheran Church, a mainstay in the community for more than 40 years. This connection to a faith community enriches and supports the learning goals and provides a foundation for spiritual growth alongside academics. It also offers lots of fun, too, with singing and dancing to Christian music through their Jesus Rocks! program.
In addition to providing important building blocks for early learning, the school also has extra programs to keep kids engaged, including swimming lessons in partnership with Southwest Aquatics, dance programs, Soccer Shots, and tumbling and gymnastics with the Fun Bus.
All this means Children’s Lighthouse gives young kids the tools to enter kindergarten with confidence, a strong educational foundation, and a love of learning.
