Catboat Clermont

Glide through hidden Florida waterways on a
Catboat Clermont tour for an escape from the crowds.

Spend a couple hours on the water with Catboat Clermont and it will connect you to the real beauty of Central Florida. Owner Nate Crawford sees it happen every day. “You can see it happen—the water works its magic. People come back smiling, relaxed, and lighter than when they left. They’re just so happy!”

Tours include a maximum of five catboats, one piloted by the guide. These specially modified, super-comfortable, two-seater catamarans are driven by guests themselves. Captains keep up a lively narration of fun facts and local lore, blending a touch of a little education, entertainment and a ton of fun!

People from all over the world—“We stopped counting after forty countries!”—have experienced the real Florida from these catboat seats: hidden waterways, cathedral-like overhangs of trees, graceful waterfowl, and, of course, a few alligators. “People ask, but we don’t really get to see as many gators as you may think. The alligators do not like the sound of our engines.”

Every day the sights are as spectacular as they are different. “We have lots of repeat customers; some have toured with us seven or eight times. Different times of year, weather, boat traffic, and water levels all contribute to a fresh experience on any given day. One afternoon, a bald eagle flew right by us and we all turned our boats around to follow him along the water. Now that was special.”

There’s plenty of parking, a scenic waiting area right on the water with a beach and lounge chairs, and spotless restrooms. The tours run two hours, but it’s easy to make a day of it. “People like to hang out with us afterward,” Nate says, “and that may be the best compliment of all.”

Central Florida gets a ton of visitors who come to see the theme parks, but Catboat Clermont offers a serene escape from all of that. No crowds or long lines. Feel like a little therapy? Natural Florida is a wonderful therapist—peaceful, beautiful, and endlessly restorative. Check out the Catboat Clermont website for info and to book your next session.
