The “slow” is a reference to Slow Resistance Training—that is the basis of the FIT Method of Modern Pilates. The FIT Method works on the slow twitch fibers in your muscles, bringing them to “failure” quicker and more efficiently. Spring-loaded machines, specially designed for the FIT 407 studios, provide the resistance and a FIT 407 instructor, schooled in the FIT Method with over 100 hours of extensive training, provides the guidance. The novelty of the FIT 407 approach is that there is a combination of Pilates movements with strength training to create something fresh in the world of fitness.

Classes typically last 45 minutes, during which time members will put their whole body through an intense workout that delivers the benefits of resistance exercise with a pronounced cardiovascular component. There are so many calories being burned during the class that attendees’ heart rates will rise into the aerobic zone 2 where optimal fat burning takes place—and stay there. All of this in a boutique Pilates studio with curated music and a vibe like no other.
