Ur Stars

Say goodbye to boring. Ur Learning Solution makes tutoring effective and fun.

No two students are the same—and at Ur Learning Solution, that’s exactly where real learning begins. “Everyone learns differently and responds to teaching methods in different ways,” says owner and tutor Lisa Marie. “There are always fun ways to learn. You just have to know your students and connect them with a tutor they will respond best with.”

Ur Learning Solution works with students ranging in age from 3 to 35 and offers tutoring in a variety of subjects, including Math, Phonics/Sight Words, Reading Comprehension, Homework Assistance, ESL classes, and Test Prep. Sessions are customized to meet each student where they are, and progress is closely monitored to keep goals on track.

“I personally tutor math and reading,” Lisa shares. “I also have someone on the team who handles science. We cover all the core subjects—history, reading, Spanish, and more.”

To start the process, prospective students and parents meet with Lisa Marie to discuss what their needs may be. Lisa evaluates the student to determine strengths and weaknesses and shares the results with the parents. “I’m looking for the gaps,” she explains. “I want to find out where the student’s challenges are and then formulate a plan to address them in a supportive, structured way. My goal is steady improvement. I always say, ‘Practice makes progress!’”

Students are tested in school at the start, middle, and end of the school year. In Florida, the goal is for students to continue to show improvement. If they don’t, teachers are required to contact the parents and discuss the situation.

“That’s usually when the phone rings,” Lisa says. “But if I could get one message across to parents, it would be this: Don’t wait until the last minute to get help. Contact me and let’s start building a strong foundation for your child’s success in school—and beyond.”
