On Point
At Viewpoint Design and Installation, craftsmanship, concierge-level service, and community commitment come together seamlessly.
John Ried, owner of Viewpoint Design and Installation, has spent the past five years honing the vision for his company to a very fine point. That time allowed him to grow both his business and his reputation within his community. So, what has he learned? What does it take to stay on point with any project, whether it’s a full kitchen or bath design for a new build or an upgrade to an existing home?
“It takes doing it right the first time,” John says. “Sounds simple, right? But there’s so much involved. We’ve learned how crucial true consistency is in meeting a customer’s needs — and every customer is unique. It takes communication, both ways. Our job is to deliver exactly what they want and need. How we manage timelines. Being transparent in our process. Get your arms around all that and you’ll go a long way toward always being on point.”
Concierge design was a concept Viewpoint embraced from the very beginning to differentiate itself from big box stores and other firms. Providing an elite level of service from early planning stages through final clean-up set them apart. It made getting things right, being on point, that much easier. More importantly, it made it a habit.
Forging the right partnerships quickly emerged as another key to Viewpoint’s growth — not just with our proven and trusted suppliers like Wellborn Cabinet, but with trade partners as well. “Sure, relationships can be established. That’s the easy part. But developing a true partnership is what matters. In a true partnership, people understand one another’s focus and vision. We accomplish what needs to be done faster, smarter, better. This industry is complex, with a lot of moving parts moving faster all the time. Good partners learn to keep each other on point.”
Community Involvement
From the very beginning, John has been a champion of the community he calls home. Contributing to it and supporting its members isn’t optional — it’s the right thing to do — and he ensures Viewpoint Design and Installation honors that commitment in every way possible.
“We make it a point to serve the community we live in. Even in the beginning, when we had just started and some days it was a challenge to keep our heads above water. It’s important to always be giving back. We support our local schools, local charities, and non-profits in Winter Garden, including Habitat for Humanity and Horizon West Rotary. We continue to look for ways to serve our community and assist where and when we can.”
To keep his company on point, John and Melissa have adjusted their ambitions to look ahead and anticipate what may be coming next. “I’d like to expand our product offerings and services to meet the ways our clients’ needs will evolve. AI technology is rapidly changing so much about business. We want to embrace that and harness it without losing the human touch we value so much. There will be new products and materials to utilize, and more opportunities to serve our community.”
“We started Viewpoint Design and Installation during the pandemic. It took a leap of faith to do it. Thank goodness my most trusted partner — my wife, Melissa — was brave enough to take this ride with me. We built this company on faith, family, and a commitment to doing right by people, and that’s exactly how we plan to keep growing.”
